Abstract

Abstract: The new coordination polymer [ϵ‐PMo12 O37 (OH)3 {La(H2 O)3 }4 (L)]· 28H2 O [H4 L = tetrakis(4‐carboxyphenyl)silane] can be synthesized by combining equal quantities of two types of 4‐connecting building blocks: organic L 4– ligands and inorganic polyoxometalate‐derived [ϵ‐PMo12 O37 (OH)3 {La(H2 O)4 }4 ] 4+ polyoxocations. The resulting coordination polymer exhibits the diamondoid topology, where both building blocks act as pseudotetrahedral nodes. The structural and spectroscopic characteristics of the parent polyoxocation are retained in the coordination polymer. Abstract : The polyoxometalate‐based 3D coordination polymer [ϵ‐PMo12 O37 (OH)3 {La(H2 O)3 }4 (L)]· 28H2 O [H4 L = tetrakis(4‐carboxyphenyl)silane] was readily synthesized from two pseudotetrahedral building blocks and exhibits a diamondoid network topology.
