- Abstract : The cover picture shows the fictional scenery of a beaver's habitat in ancient Greece and Rome. The scent glands of beavers (castoreum) were used as therapeutics to treat various illnesses in ancient Greece and Rome. Based on our synthetic study, the compound at the center of the image is a suggested minor component from beavers, which showed affinities to three CNS receptors. Details of the work are discussed in the article by H. Seki and G. I. Georg onp. 3777 ff. We acknowledge Mariko Seki for the exquisite cover picture.
