Abstract

Abstract : The cover picture shows that a variety of synthetically valuable compounds (gold) are accessible straightforwardly by the copper‐catalyzed cyano‐ and alkynylstannylation of arynes. Despite the transient character, a strained carbon–carbon triple bond of arynes is selectively inserted into a C(sp)–Sn bond of a tin cyanide or alkynylstannanes to give ortho ‐cyanated or ‐alkynylated arylstannanes in high yield. The other features of the picture are that widely available copper cyanide efficaciously catalyzes these stannylations without any added supporting ligands, and that the resulting alkynylstannylated products can be converted into biologically active molecules and a dye for dye‐sensitized solar cells.
