- Abstract : A building block approach to molecule-based refrigerants: using diamagnetic Co(iii ) to decrease the interaction between Gd(iii ) ions and hence, enhance the adiabatic temperature change. Abstract : The adiabatic temperature change of the star-shaped {CoIII3GdIII3} magnetocaloric ring is enhanced via topological control over the assembly process, by using a pre-formed {Co II (H6 L)} building block that undergoes oxidation to Co III, successfully separating the Gd III ions.
