Abstract

Highlights: Five cases of Zika virus infections in returning travellers to the UK are described. All were referred by their general practitioners without requiring hospitalisation. All were diagnosed by serology, with only one also having a positive urine PCR test. Two men had follow-up semen testing, one being PCR positive up to day 45 of illness. The possibility of serological testing of asymptomatic pregnant women is discussed.
