- Abstract: The performance and durability of the polymer gears is an important aspect about their application. This paper investigates the various techniques employed for the enhancement of the performance of polymer gears. These techniques are utilized by modifying the geometry of gear tooth. The improvement in the performance of these polymer gears can be seen as an increase in the life cycle, i.e., durability and a decrease in the wear of the material of gear. This paper also mentions the role of the polymer composite materials and the concept of hybrid gears in the performance improvement of these gears.
