Abstract : Pyrophosphate analogues are of great importance especially for the design of biologically active molecules. The phospha-Claisen condensation allows for the rapid synthesis of (phosphonomethyl)phosphinate pyrophosphate analogues and building blocks that can be employed in numerous applications.
