Graphical abstract: Highlights: Polar constituents of the leaves of G. buchananii have been investigated Two new benzoyl glucuronosyl glycerols were isolated and identified from the leaves of G. buchananii using spectroscopic data analysis. Helicioside, quercetin-6- C - β -d -glucopyranoside, apigenin-8- C - β -d -glucopyranosyl-2″-O-L-rhamnopyranoside and vitexin were identified for the first time in G. buchananii. Abstract: Two new benzoyl glucuronosyl glycerols, (2 R )-1- O -4-hydroxy-benzoyl-3- O -α-d -glucuronosyl glycerol (1 ) and (2 S )-1- O -4-hydroxy-3-methoxy-benzoyl-3- O -α-d -glucuronosyl glycerol (2 ), together with helicioside (3 ), quercetin-6- C - β -d -glucopyranoside (4 ), apigenin-8- C - β -d -glucopyranosyl-2″- O -L-rhamnopyranoside (5 ), vitexin (6 ), ( 2R, 3R )-aromadendrin-6- C-β- d -glucopyranoside and ( 2R, 3R )-taxifolin-6- C-β- d -glucopyranoside were isolated and purified from the leaves of Garcinia buchananii. Their structures were identified by the interpretation of spectroscopic data. This is the first report of compounds1 -6 from G. buchananii .
