- Abstract : Cooperative photoredox and cobalt catalyzed carboxylation of styrenes with CBr4 to afford the corresponding α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acids has been realized through radical addition and Kornblum (DMSO) oxidation. Abstract : Cooperative photoredox and cobalt catalyzed carboxylation of styrenes with CBr4 to afford the corresponding α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acids has been realized through radical addition and Kornblum (DMSO) oxidation. DMSO serves as the oxidant, oxygen source and solvent under these photocatalytic conditions.
