- Abstract : Thin Films The field of coordination polymers and metal–organic frameworks would greatly benefit from effective vapor‐phase synthesis routes. In their Communication onpage 2988 ff., M. Karppinen et al. utilize the atomic/molecular layer deposition (ALD/MLD) method to synthesize highly crystalline thin films of a new coordination polymer, dilithium 1, 4‐benzenediolate. Benefitting from the all‐gas‐phase method, the as‐synthesized films are formed with unsaturated metal sites that allow reversible interaction with guest molecules.
