- Abstract : Synthetic hydroporphyrins (chlorins) carrying two thienyl groups can be electropolymerized to films that absorb light across the entire visible range. The films absorb particularly strongly in the blue and the red. Soluble polymers with similar features were obtained by chemical co‐polymerization of the chlorins with hexylthiophene. Such materials are of potential interest for light‐harvesting applications, for example in artificial photosynthesis.
