Abstract

Abstract: In this article the current state of Internet Protocol v 6 (IPv6) is explored. The limitations of Internet Protocol v 4 (IPv4) are explained as well as how these are addressed by IPv6 and the other advantages of IPv6. Three different approaches to dealing with the current widespread version of IP and the emerging version are outlined along with the advantages and disadvantages of each.
