Abstract

ABSTRACT: Psychodynamic theories that directly inform the work of community psychoanalysts are identified and discussed in this paper. Psychoanalysis in the community is distinguished from psychoanalysis of the community, and what is truly analytic about each type of applied work is described in detail. The paper additionally attempts to expand the theoretical knowledge of community analysts in order to add to their technical repertoire. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
