Abstract

Abstract: Domino heart transplant, wherein the explanted heart from the recipient of an en‐bloc heart‐lung is utilized for a second recipient, represents a unique surgical strategy for patients with end‐stage heart failure. With a better understanding of the potential advantages and disadvantages of this procedure, its selective use in the current era can improve and maximize organ allocation in the United States. In this report, we reviewed the current status of domino heart transplantation.
