- Abstract: The conventional processes of acid gas removal from natural gas have the disadvantages of low acid gas loading capacity, high equipment corrosion rate and energy demand. To address these issues and to better control of corrosion and temperature in the contactor, the temperature based techniques such as supersonic gas separation, mixed amines and multi-lean amine streams processes are simulated and proposed using computational fluid dynamics and process simulator software, respectively. The results of multi-lean amine streams approach confirmed a lower corrosion and temperature along the contactor and proposed a promising process. Highlights: Foaming tendency and corrosion rare are simulated based on some indicators along the absorber. Three designed supersonic separators are simulated using computational fluid dynamics. A good temperature distribution and lower corrosion is found for the process called multi-lean amine streams approach.
