Abstract: Iodination of areneboronic acids by perfluoroisopropyl iodide in the presence of Cu powder gives aryl iodides in high yields, while with cupric acetate perfluoroalkylation occurs to provide perfluoroisopropyl arenes in acceptable to moderate yields.
