- Abstract : A facile (NH4 )2 SO4 -modified polycondensation strategy was developed for thin porous g-C3 N4 with highly enhanced visible light photocatalytic NO removal. Abstract : Polymeric graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3 N4 ) materials have attracted great interest due to their potential application in photocatalysis and optoelectronic devices. However, bulk g-C3 N4 prepared from direct polycondensation still suffers from a high charge recombination rate and low photocatalytic activity. Herein, a facile (NH4 )2 SO4 -modified polycondensation strategy was developed for the synthesis of thin and porous g-C3 N4 . The (NH4 )2 SO4 behaved as a dynamic gas template, exerting a promotive effect on the formation of porous g-C3 N4 . The as-prepared porous g-C3 N4 has significant advantages of large surface area, enhanced charge separation, and more suitable band gap, thus demonstrating improved photocatalytic performance for the removal of NO from air.
