- ABSTRACT: In this paper, a slot loaded ultra wideband monopole patch antenna with triple band‐notched characteristic has been presented. The antenna consists of rectangular patch with three modified inverted U‐shaped slots to create three notches at Wi‐MAX (3.3–3.6 GHz), C‐band (3.7–4.2 GHz), and WLAN (5.15–5.85 GHz) frequencies. Lumped‐element equivalent circuit model and current distribution curves have been used to explain the triple band‐rejection characteristics of the designed antenna. The proposed triple notch structure has been fabricated and tested against simulated data. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 59:138–142, 2017
