Abstract

Abstract: This paper investigates the WLC-based flexible processing route decision in job shops with parallel machines and alternative process plans. Several heuristic approaches are supplied to support the workload route decision making. A closed-loop dynamic decision-making method for process planning called WLC-based process plan decision is introduced and nine kinds of heuristic approaches about process plan decision are derived which consider different factors about order features and shop-floor status. Combining with parallel route selection, these approaches are analyzed. It is indicated that workload route decision (WLRD) make up the deficiency of the order release inside the workshop.
