- Abstract : This review article presents the generation and control of polarization-shaped femtosecond laser pulses. Some applications of these pulses to coherent control are described, including multiphoton photoionization, forced molecular rotation, optical control of lattice vibrations, nano-optics, and wavelength conversion. Theoretical expectations for enantiomeric purification and magnetization are also discussed. Graphical Abstract:
