- ABSTRACT: The proposed functional equation is established using a two-dimensional dielectric loss model with an unsteady temperature distribution inside the asphalt mixtures to obtain the temperature field when the asphalt mixture is heated by a horn antenna. Furthermore, the boundary conditions are built. The stiffness matrix of overall temperatures is obtained by the discretization of the solution region. The temperature value of each node can be obtained by solving the stiffness matrix. The temperature distribution is achieved in the direction of the electric and magnetic fields by using the -spline function to fit each node temperature. Results show that the temperature gradient in the direction of the electric field is smaller than that in the direction of the magnetic field. The maximum temperature occurs near the center of the horn surface. The simulation and experiment results are consistent, which are significant in solving the stiffness matrix of the overall asphalt mixture temperature.
