Abstract : Synthesis of easily separable magnetic core–shell nanoparticles and their efficient use as catalyst in a multicomponent reaction. Abstract : Sulfonic acid functionalized silica-coated CuFe2 O4 magnetic nanoparticles were synthesized and characterized by XRD, TEM, SEM, FTIR, EDX, and VSM analysis. The synthesized nanocrystalline CuFe2 O4 @SiO2 –SO3 H was used as catalyst for the synthesis of medicinally relevant 2-pyrazole-3-amino-imidazo-fused polyheterocycles. The catalyst offers several advantages such as non-toxicity, high stability, paramagnetic nature and shortest reaction time.
