- Abstract : CoFe2 O4 nanoparticles with high magnetic coercivity were synthesized using natural templates. Abstract : CoFe2 O4 nanoparticles were synthesized using a simple precipitation method in the presence of three natural templates: flax, gauze and sisal. Each preparation gave rise to two different types of samples. The structural, morphological and magnetic properties of the nanoparticles were characterized, and their usefulness as nano-heaters in magnetic hyperthermia was explored. The specific loss powers obtained for all CoFe2 O4 nanoparticles in water shared similar magnitudes and were attributed to a dominant Brown relaxation. The nanoparticles obtained after template calcination at 550 °C display morphologies determined by the threaded templates, with enhanced magnetic anisotropy and associated magnetic coercivities similar to that of nanofibers or nanorods.
