- Abstract : We report an all-new nickel-containing POM catalyst [{β-SiNi2 W10 O36 (OH)2 (H2 O)}4 ] 24− (1 ) that catalyzes water oxidation under visible light. Multiple experiments confirm that1 acts as an active and dominant catalyst rather than Ni 2+ ions (aq) or nickel oxide during the water oxidation. Abstract : [{β-SiNi2 W10 O36 (OH)2 (H2 O)}4 ] 24− (1 ) was reported as efficient, robust visible light-driven water oxidation catalyst for the first time. Of the reported polyoxometalates containing nickel, 1 shows the best photocatalytic O2 evolution activity with a TON of 335 and TOF of 1.7 s −1 .
