- Abstract: Indole (II) and 1‐methylindole (VII) react with 1‐arylnitrosoethylene leading to intermediate hetero‐Diels—Alder cycloadducts, which suffer an 1, 2‐oxazine ring‐opening reaction to form 3‐alkylated indoles.
