Abstract

Highlights: General practitioners (GPs) have a critical role in identifying and monitoring victims of shaken baby syndrome (SBS). The 'doctor shopping' and an irregular medical follow-up seem to be true for SBS, which is similar to the other types of child abuse. Two main difficulties are encountered by GPs: the monitoring and the lack of coordination between physicians after diagnosis of SBS.
