- Abstract : (Abstracted from Br J Anaesth, 115:867–872, 2015) Deep neuromuscular block (NMB) reduces unexpected intraoperative patient movements and laryngeal responses during laryngeal microsurgery. However, NMB has also been found to increase the risk of postoperative residual muscle relaxation, owing to the surgery's short duration.
