- Abstract : The purpose of this article is to investigate dancer-researcher-performer (BPI), the Brazilian method of dance composition that was created by professor Graziela Rodrigues in the 1980s. The article aims at showing how such practices are developed from the experience of a performer in relation to some popular manifestation such as a festivity or another cultural event. It also enables one to work directly with popular knowledge that is passed from "generation to generation." The investigation offers a brief view of my doctoral studies in which I aim at analyzing the aesthetic specificities of this method.
