Abstract

Abstract : Palladium nanorods constitute a highly promising material for a myriad of applications, ranging from catalysis to electronics. However, achieving a highly controlled synthesis of these nanoparticles has proven difficult. In their Full Paper onpage 246, which is featured on the front cover, Younan Xia and co‐workers report a seed‐meditated synthesis of palladium nanorods, achieved through the controlled growth of palladium decahedra. The new approach allows for the creation of nanorods with a wide range of lengths and diameters, as well as their subsequent use as templates for the creation of bimetallic nanoparticles.
