- Highlights: Unlike many other countries smokeless tobacco (SLT) is the predominant form of tobacco use in India. Limited information is available at the population level on smokeless tobacco as a smoking cessation method in India. The most common smoking cessation method in India was found to be switching to smokeless tobacco.
