Abstract

Abstract: This archival study examined personal and environmental characteristics associated with premature termination from, or persistence in, counseling among a sample of adolescents ( n = 74) who presented for services at a community counseling clinic. The predictive discriminant analysis yielded a model with a 74.6% hit rate for counseling outcome. Internalizing behaviors and time spent on the wait list accounted for the most variance in counseling persistence.
