Abstract

Abstract: The benzophenone‐catalyzed photoreaction of α, β‐unsaturated ketones affords trifluoromethyl‐containing phenanthrenes, whilst the analogous anthraquinone‐catalyzed reaction of γ, δ‐unsaturated ketones gives rise to trifluoromethylated anthrone derivatives.
