Abstract

Abstract : The Front Cover shows an olefin metathesis catalyst entering the catalytic cycle as a well‐defined molecular species, and exiting as ruthenium nanoparticles (RuNPs). In their Communication, C. S. Higman, A. E. Lanterna et al. reveal that the second‐generation Grubbs catalyst decomposes into RuNPs under conditions of metathesis. These and related RuNPs are shown to function as C=C isomerization catalysts, providing a new insight into the problem of competing double‐bond isomerization during olefin metathesis.
