- Abstract : Controlled instability‐induced pattern formation is achieved by a moduli‐patterning method. Local strains in the relatively soft substrate are higher than those in the hard region once pre‐strains are applied. Thus, buckling patterns are initiated preferentially in the soft region, inducing spatially controlled instability‐induced pattern formation.
