- Abstract: The key step of the title synthesis is a ring‐expansion rearrangement, in which the threo‐fused monosubstituted prolinol (I) is efficiently transformed to the 2, 3‐disubstituted piperidine (III) with cis‐configuration and without loss of enantiomeric purity.
