- Abstract : A new coordination polymer, {[Zn(H2 btec)(bpmp)]·2H2 O}n (1 )(H4 btec = 1, 2, 4, 5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid and bpmp = 1, 4-bis(4-pyridylmethy) piperazine) has been prepared by hydrothermal synthesis and characterized by elemental analysis, IR and X-ray diffraction. Complex {[Zn(H2 btec)(bpmp)]·2H2 O}n (1 ), monoclinic, space group P 21 /n with a = 10.014 (5) Å, b = 13.448 (5) Å, c = 14.550 (5) Å, β = 97.349 (5)° V = 1943.3 (14) Å 3, Z = 4, Mr = 486.74, Dc = 1.664g/cm 3, F (000) = 998 and µ = 1.326 mm −1 . The final refinement gave R = 0.0356and wR = 0.0958for 4471 reflections with I > 2σ( I ). X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that complex 1 shows a three-dimensional (3, 4)-connected 3, 4T10 topological net.
