Abstract

Abstract : The front cover picture, provided by Kilian Muñiz and co‐workers, illustrates the birth of a new iodine catalyst. The arrival of the iodine‐rich 1, 2‐diiodobenzene provides new opportunities for iodine(I/III) redox catalysis. It undergoes selective oxidation with peracetic acid to provide the corresponding iodine(III) catalyst, which is of remarkable reactivity in the intermolecular CH amination of arenes. Upon formation of the corresponding aniline coupling products, the catalyst returns to the initial iodine(I) oxidation state.
