Abstract: The BNPA‐catalyzed reaction of 2‐mercaptobenzyl alcohols (II) with 2‐vinylindoles (I) leads to benzoxathiepines (III), whilst reactions with indene (IV) and alkenes (VI) under similar conditions give rise to corresponding β‐hydroxy sulfides.
