- Abstract : Novel all-thiophene-based conjugated porous organic polymers (ThPOP-1 andThPOP-2 ) were synthesized through ferric chloride-catalyzed oxidative coupling polymerization at room temperature. Abstract : Novel all-thiophene-based conjugated porous organic polymers (ThPOP-1 andThPOP-2 ) were synthesized through ferric chloride-catalyzed oxidative coupling polymerization at room temperature.ThPOP-1 andThPOP-2 were characterized via solid-state 13 C CP/MAS NMR spectroscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. The sulfur content of the obtained polymers is approximately 36 wt%. The Brunauer–Emmett–Teller specific surface area results ofThPOP-1 andThPOP-2 are 1050 and 160 m 2 g −1, respectively. Carbon dioxide adsorption isotherms show thatThPOP-1 (15.0 wt%) exhibits a larger uptake capacity thanThPOP-2 (4.0 wt%) at 273 K and 1.0 bar. Hydrogen uptake is also excellent forThPOP-1 (2.23 wt%) at 77 K and 1.0 bar.
