- Abstract : This work presents a previous analysis of the specificities of the relationship between director and performer that exists when using the dancer–researcher–performer method (BPI in Portuguese). BPI is a Brazilian dance creation method in which the performer lives an otherness experience through fieldwork in Brazilian cultural manifestations. In this method, the director acts as a midwife, facilitating the "birth" of a dance that already exists in the performer's body, generated from its encounter with the field.
