- ABSTRACT: The classical explanation of the shielding charges at the surface of a ferroelectric was looked back at first. Then based on the non-equilibrium (or irreversible) thermodynamic description of ferroelectric phase transitions, a new explanation of that was given out. They agree with each other. In particular, the former is a special case of the latter.
