- Abstract : The catalytic activity and stability of nanoporous silver-Pt (NPS-Pt) electrodes which were electrodeposited on nanoporous silver (NPS) substrate through cyclic voltammetry (CV) have been investigated by CV and chronoamperometry. The results show that the modified NPS-Pt electrode exhibits better electrochemical catalytic activity towards formaldehyde oxidation than the corresponding NPS electrode, which may be attributed to the uniform dispersion of Pt nanoparticles on NPS and the efficacy of Pt species in Ag-Pt system. The structural stability was also improved by the synergistic effect of platinum and silver.
