Abstract

ABSTRACT: In this issue, we explore the data validation feature available in Excel. When you gather data through input from the user, you want the input to be valid. This is very important if you want meaningful results from your model. Let us say you are requiring the user to input the existing full load kW/ton of a centrifugal chiller. You do not want the user to enter any characters or alphabets or numbers outside the expected range. This is where Excel's data validation techniques can help. With data validation techniques, you can restrict the user to input only valid information. You can also provide messages to the user of the type and/or range of input you expect for the cell and instructions to help users correct any errors.
