- Abstract: In the frame of replacing toxic Pb of iodoplumbates in all‐solid, dye‐sensitized solar cells, LiBiI4 ·5H2 O (I), MgBi2 I8 ·8H2 O (II), MnBi2 I8 ·8H2 O (III), and KBiI4 ·H2 O (IV) are prepared by solvent evaporation of solutions containing e.g. BiI3 and Li2 CO3 (2:1) in freshly prepared HI (5 weeks under ambient air, ≈70% yield).
