- Graphical abstract: Highlights: Iridium catalyzed generation of azomethine ylides using alcohols as starting materials. One pot multi component reactions using readily available starting materials to create molecular complexity. This process is highly atom economical. Abstract: A three component iridium-catalyzed 1, 3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction has been used for the synthesis of fused ring heterocycles as endo / exo isomers, in good yields with the formation of three new bonds and four stereo centers.
