- Abstract : Karina Golberg and co‐workers investigate different materials with putative biofilm disrupting characteristics using patches made up of algal‐secreted polysaccharide in article 1500486. Copper‐polysaccharide complexes are found to have strong anti‐biofilm activity, while exhibiting protruding needle‐like structures. These nano‐structures are hypothesized to prevent bacterial attachment either physically or via bacterial membrane damage, thus forecasting a broad‐spectrum anti‐biofilm application in both medical and industrial settings (graphics by Omer Levy).
