- Abstract : In a recent paper Zheng et al. 1 reported a strategy for enhancing the sensitivity of luminescent thermometers based on Yb 3+ /Er 3+ co-doped β-NaLuF4 nanocrystals using temperature dependent changes of the fluorescence intensity ratio (FIR) of the 2 I11/2 → 4 I15/2 to 4 D7/2 → 4 I15/2 electronic transition at 244 nm and 256 nm, respectively.
