- Abstract: Upon addition of a chiral amine ligand, an alcohol and a base, the 1st generation Hoveyda—Grubbs catalyst is in situ transformed into an asymmetric transfer hydrogenation catalyst, promoting the enantioselective reduction of acetophenone to 1‐phenylethanol.
