Abstract

Abstract : (Abstracted from N Engl J Med 2016;374:434–443) The prevalence of obesity is increasing both in developed countries and in developing countries, and an estimated one-fifth of pregnant women in the United Kingdom and one-third of those in the United States are obese. Obesity is associated with an increased risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes, and lifestyle-intervention studies have not shown improved outcomes.
