Abstract

Abstract : ( Int J Obstet Anesth . 2015;24(2):103–110) Hemorrhage is one of the foremost direct causes of maternal death and critical care admission, often requiring allogeneic blood products. Because allogeneic blood is an increasingly scarce and expensive resource, and given the risks associated with donor blood transfusion, it is important to explore blood conservation strategies in order to reduce consumption of allogeneic blood.
